Cocurricular Programme & School Clubs

At IST we offer programs and experiences outside of the classroom that balance our students' learning experience by giving them the tools they need to express creativity, think critically, communicate effectively and learn through inquiry.

Primary Performing Arts

IST is delighted to introduce a new co-curricular course for PYP students this school year: Performing Arts. Students from Grade 1 through 5 will participate in rotating modules of different performing arts disciplines: Drama, Dance, Choir, Percussion Ensemble and Strings.

This allows them to gain experience in major art forms and make connections to Units of Inquiry in other subjects through expressive practice. Our external tutors include active performer-teachers on the international stage, members of the prestigious Orchestra della Rai, Filieradarte Association for Educational Dance and others.

Since 2016, IST has been a UNESCO-associated school, and every year, the IST UNESCO club is invited to the young scientists' meeting in Santarem (Portugal). The club, with around 15-20 active members, meets every Monday morning to analyze, discuss, and communicate about an ecological theme and to find solutions to environmental issues from a scientist's point of view.

Yearbook Club

The Yearbook Club is a dynamic and creative group of students dedicated to capturing the essence of each school year. Committed to preserving cherished memories, this club meticulously compiles a visually stunning yearbook that encapsulates the highlights, achievements, and personalities of our school community.

Through photography, design, and storytelling, members of the Yearbook Club work collaboratively to craft a keepsake that will be cherished for years to come, allowing every student to relive the moments that make their school experience special.

Model United Nations (MUN)

Over the last few years, IST has organized and hosted the Turin Model United Nations conference, an academic simulation of the United Nations that aims to educate students about civics, effective communication, globalization, and multilateral diplomacy.

The TOMUN (Turin Model United Nations) conference is held at the United Nations campus in Turin in partnership with the International Labour Organization.

Within MUN, students take on roles as delegates and ambassadors and participate in a simulated session of an intergovernmental organization. Students will research countries, take on roles as diplomats and ambassadors, investigate international issues, debate, deliberate, consult, negotiate, and develop solutions to world problems. It is also a fantastic opportunity to meet other internationally-minded students worldwide.

Eco Club

As part of our commitment to sustainability and biodiversity, the IST Eco Club prides itself on initiating and partaking in countless events and activities related to our environment. Despite being a smaller community, we understand the real significance of our work in achieving greater sustainability, and by result, we heavily focus our efforts at the local and community level.

Secondary Sports Team

The Secondary Sports Team is a great opportunity for MYP students to get involved in sports. They run after school on weekdays, and they are free of charge!

Currently, the school organizes clubs for volleyball, basketball, football and cross-country running. Joining the Secondary Sports Team means having the honor to represent the International School of Turin when competing in international tournaments with other schools and friendly matches with nearby institutes.
